Today’s food was rather boring. As you know, I need to go grocery shopping, but I am trying to use up whats in my fridge first. This forces me to use my imagination and be more adventurous with my food. I do think I will hit the grocery store tomorrow, because the eats are getting pretty low. Well, at least the healthy eats are below are today’s eats!
This morning I ate lunch at my desk, please excuse the picture quality.
Lunch was a repeat of yesterday, but instead of hot pepper sauce, I used bbq instead and loaded up on the spinach and tomatoes ( as you can see, i like those a lot).
Grapes for a snack, is it possible for grapes to be too sweet? I know that sounds crazy, but these grapes were teeth hurtingly (if that’s a word) sweet.
Dinner was bleh. Just some steamed sweet corn, baked fries, and H2o to finish it off. I promise food will get more interesting, time to raid my healthy recipe box 🙂
This lovely slide show above is what I ate for lunch today! As I am in need of some MAJOR grocery Haulage, I decided against making a trip to fast food land and put my imagination to work. So what do you get when you mix: Greek yogurt, feta cheese, skinless boneless chicken, franks hot sauce, spinach, and a whole wheat tortilla? Whew.. that was a mouthfull, anywho you get a super delicious chicken wrap! Oh yeah I gorgot i threw some tomatoes in there as well.
I have to say I am so happy I did not give into temptation and ruin myself with fast food. I do have to do better at planning my meals though. I think that action will help me a great deal. I love to cook but when things take forever and I’m in a time crunch I don’t make the most healthy choices. But, I digress, I hope you enjoy this as much as I did 🙂
Well, I have to admit that my life and weight had gotten completely out of control 😦
Here’s the story:
I’m a not so recent college graduate (1 1/2 post) and I have still not managed to find a steady job! I have been temping and doing odd jobs here and there, and the list goes on and on. Needless to say, all of this have wreaked havoc on my weight loss journey. I gained more weight and realized that I am an emotional eater. When things aren’t going my way I eat to ease the pain and that is not at all a healthy habit to have.
I am also dealing with the fact that not living on my own has a to do with my weight gain as well. While I was in college and living by my lonesome, I had more control over everything I was eating. I had the funds to purchase healthy foods and cook in my own kitchen and made meals that were better for me. Living with my grandparents (and having no money for groceries) has damaged my weight loss as well. I’m pretty much pushed into a corner and forced to eat what my grandmother buys (in most cases not the healthiest) of foods.
So all of these factors have made me a depressed, crabby, unmotivated, fatty pants and I’M SICK OF IT!!
This has been the story of my life for so long and I have to make the choice now or never, so after this mouthful I have decided to take control! And my firstg step in that process is owning up to the demon that is my weight (shudders) I am going to list my current weight and my goal weight below.
So, I have shared the damage and am ready to get the ball rolling on a healthier me! I have taken a pledge to document my journey no matter haw hard it gets at times, no matter how bad my eating is, and no matter how far I may fall off my wagon at times. I am making a conscious effort to change my life for the better. No more excuses!
I have been pondering what to do with the canned pumpkin I have in my pantry, and have been avoiding it for quite some time. Then, I was fortunate enough to come across this delightful blog: Calliflower Kitchen, and she had a recipe for pumpkin scones (yum) I can’t wait to try it! If any of you out there have any healthy ideas for the use of canned pumpkin, I would love to see them 🙂

I am not dead, but my computer unfortunately is 😦 I will be back with updates on my weight-loss, and healthy lifestyle journey when I can. TTYL 🙂
The title of todays post holds so true. After a weekend of family gatherings and weddings, I struggled and FAILED to keep a good balance. I decided not to blog my weekend eats because they were utterly horrendous! with that being said, I have come to a conclusion….. I will no longer not post my eats because of guilt. I have decided from this day forward I will post my eats no matter how bad they are. After all, that’s exactly why I created this blog in the first place. To hold myself accountable no matter what! Well, as I come off of my tyrant, here are todays eats 🙂
Honey nu cherios w/low fat milk
A realy yummy peach for a snack 😛
Turkey sammy w/ lots of veggies, grapes, and almond thins ( I only had two of these, I did'nt realy care for them)
Green beans (I usualy don't go for canned, but I wanted something quick). I rinsed them off before cooking to cut down on the sodium. I cut up a breaded chicken breast and tossed it in BBQ sauce and hot pepper sauce for a little added kick. Voila! a very yummy and satisfying dinnere!
Today was a mirror food day, nothing much differed from yesterday so I felt no need to blog todays food. I’ll be back tomorrow with more yummy eats 🙂
